The majority of our current and past customers are manufacturers and in our experience most manufacturers are aware of Lean Manufacturing and have reduced waste in manufacturing in some form or other. We can add value by focusing on the non manufacturing areas of the business from sales and right through the business processes to invoicing, cash collection and handling complaints. It is always surprising how much waste there is outside of the manufacturing processes.
We work with clients to improve their business processes. This ranges from a half day intervention with a jobbing engineer to modify their order processing right through to helping clients identify and implement Management Information Systems (MIS), Material Resource Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Our approach uses techniques like Value Stream Mapping to identify and reduce non value added non critical business processes. No matter what techniques used though we are pragmatic and all the time we use cost benefit analysis to make sure that the benefits of the business process improvement outweighs the cost.
